The 31st-annual Salute to Summer Free Concert & Fireworks Show at Naval Station Newport takes place on Saturday, August 29, 2026, featuring live music, food vendors, and a kids' area.

Event Schedule & Location
• Date: Saturday, August 29, 2026
• Location: Dewey Field, Naval Station Newport, RI
• Access Times: Authorized ID holders may enter at 2:00 PM; the general public can walk on base starting at 4:00 PM.
• Activities: Live music performances, food and drink trucks, and children's entertainment areas.
• Fireworks: Scheduled for later in the evening over the water (typically around 9:15 PM, weather permitting).

Admission & Guidelines
• Cost: Free and open to the general public.
• Identification: Guests over 16 must present a valid picture ID. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
• Screening: All guests will be required to undergo screening which includes metal detectors and inspection of carried items like bags and backpaks.
• Prohibited Items: Coolers, outside food or drinks, glass containers, pets, weapons, defensive sprays/pepper spray, and drones are strictly prohibited.
• Permitted Items: Lawn chairs, blankets, strollers, and medical devices or aids.

MySVA portal is getting an upgrade! We are building a new and improved MySVA experience designed to better support student veterans, chapter leaders, and military-affiliated students.

Beginning July 23, the portal will be temporarily unavailable while we complete this exciting transformation. While MySVA is offline, you can still access many of your favorite SVA programs, resources, and opportunities through our website. If you need additional assistance, our team is here to help.
