WE WANT TO LEARN FROM YOU!!!

We are inviting Black women, ages 18 and older, who are breast cancer survivorsโ€”as well as those who know Black women who have survived breast cancer and are willing to share their experiences.The Project BEST team hopes to learn directly from you so we can better understand and address disparities in breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes.

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. Screenings, such as Pap tests, can help prevent cervical cancer or catch it early. If you live in Kansas and don't have health insurance, see if you qualify for free cervical cancer screening through the Kansas Early Detection Works Program at: https://www.kdhe.ks.gov/826/Early-Detection-Works. Early Detection Works services are available through the Wyandotte County Public Health Department.

The Health Department offers annual well-woman exams and pap smears. We also offer colposcopy services. Colposcopy is an exam that uses a special magnifying device to look at the cervix. Patients may be referred for a colposcopy if they have an abnormal Pap smear result. Learn more about our services at wycokck.org/health.
