From the awards dinner to the football field, it was a pleasure to welcome Greg Bailey, Fairview High School Class of 1997, back to the View as our 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient.
He joined us in the Homecoming parade, spent time speaking with students at the high school, and returned to the football field he once played on to perform the coin toss at Friday night’s game.
During his conversation with students, Greg reflected on the teachers at Fairview who made a lasting impact on his life and shared some powerful words of wisdom:
“You may be living an extraordinary life, not always understanding you are living it while you are in it.”
He also shared his personal code for life: “Ship, Shipmates, Self." A reminder of the importance of putting your responsibilities, your fellow shipmates, and yourself in perspective.
His advice to our students? Take some time to reflect on your extraordinary life.
Greg, thank you for coming home, sharing your story, and inspiring the next generation of Fairview Tigers. We are proud to call you one of our own!
