The wholeness in my heart has no words tonight. Born from a notecard on a window, Duck Duck evolved over the years into the family I see today. I am overwhelmed with the love and support I am surrounded by from all of you.

Today I locked the doors of Duck Duck for the last time. Monday we will open under a new name, and soon enough my time here will be done. But as I looked around this afternoon at all the lives I've been able to be a part of, I know it was time well spent. For this opportunity, I am forever grateful.

I still struggle to find the words to say how much the past 12 years of Duck Duck have meant to me. I've been impacted in ways I can't count, met so many wonderful people and got to be (no matter how small) an impact on the humans these ducklings will become. Thank you all for letting me be a part of it. I love you all.

Job description:

We are looking for full-time and part-time childcare teachers to join our unique approach to childcare, co-manage a consistent classroom, and complement our team.

As a Childcare Teacher, you will work as a classroom co-teacher typically with 1 other consistent teacher, caring for children ranging from 6 weeks to 6 years. You will play a key role in supporting the success and safety of the children under your care while building lasting relationships with families. If you have a background in childcare and a desire to make a positive impact on children’s lives, we encourage you to apply.

Requirements

-Minimum: High school diploma
-Minimum: 1 year of experience working as a childcare staff member in a licensed childcare center program
-An understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and the ability to ensure use, and the safety of, a classroom ranging from 6 weeks to 6 years.
-Excellent communication skills to work with children, co-workers, and families.
-Meet ODJFS requirements including CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
-Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and work indoors or outdoors.
-Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.
