Happy Flag Day to our Fairport families! 🇺🇸

It's been an action-packed week at Brooks Hill School, where our elementary students are having fun in the sun during recess on the playground, picnics in the courtyard and field days! ☀

As part of its America 250 Week celebration, Northside School hosted the Hometown Heroes Refreshment Day to show appreciation to our local first responders and law enforcement partners!

Our NS Student Council fourth graders ran a grab-and-go station stocked with treats, greeted our hometown heroes with big smiles and gave guided tours of the school building. 😁 First responders from the Fairport Fire Department, Perinton Ambulance, Monroe County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police and more stopped by for a refreshing snack break. 🍿🥤

To our first responders - thank you for your service to our community and for visiting Northside School yesterday. And to our amazing students who planned this event - way to go! 👏

During a schoolwide assembly this morning, members of the Fairport VFW came to Northside School to teach students about the American flag - its history, significance and how to show respect to it. To set the tone for this lesson, our NS Heroes sang the National Anthem and wore red, white and blue clothing. Thank you, Fairport VFW!

In addition to today’s event, Northside will be celebrating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States all week long. 🇺🇸

As we head into the first weekend in June, we wish our community a happy Pride month! 😎 🌞

Town Supervisor Jenn Townsend had a wonderful few mornings at the Kennelley Park Gazebo, meeting with several groups of first graders from Fairport Central School District during their community walking tours in the Village of Fairport, NY.

Students spent time asking questions, sharing ideas, and learning more about local leadership before heading off to visit nearby small businesses. It was a fun and engaging way to connect young learners with the people, history, and places that help make our community so vibrant.

An unforgettable farewell, and the start of a new chapter! 🎵

Last night marked the final concert presented by the Minerva DeLand Music Department. After showcasing the unique talent of the Choir, Band and Chamber Orchestra ensembles, all of the student-musicians united for a debut performance of “Lauda, Minerva!,” a special piece composed by Fairport graduate Jonathan Thomas Madden. 🎼

Starting in the 2026-27 school year, the District will usher in a new era with the consolidation of ninth grade into the Fairport High School facility. Learn more at fairport.org/consolidation.

Thank you to our extraordinary music educators for organizing this concert, and to our Fairport families and community members in the audience for showing their support to the Class of 2029. What a way to commemorate the legacy of musical excellence at Minerva DeLand School!
