Our Fairport Skippers Cross Country team ran in their second mud race of the season but this one almost turned into a slip and slide race. It started raining almost as soon as we arrived and kept raining throughout every race. The downhills almost became rivers of mud and it was more important just to keep footing rather than race for personal records. That didn't stop us though and some of our athletes overcame the terrain to finish with their fastest races yet. Amelia Swan ran her fastest race ever and Fiona Morenz ran her fastest race of the season. Landon Ticel just missed his career best by 3 seconds and Truett Henderson ran our 3rd fastest time for a 7th grader on that course. Next Saturday we hope for dry weather as we compete at the renamed McNulty Invitational at Forest Hill Park. It's not too late to join the team. Just speak to Coach Knight or Coach Kristin.
