Edith Teter Elementary
Hello ETE Families:

October is Socktober! 🧦 We are excited to participate in this special community effort organized by our local Food Bank, which supports families in our community with food and other essential items.

Throughout the month, families are invited to donate new socks and drop them off at the school. All donated socks will be collected and shared with families and/or students.

We also want to remind families that our Food Bank offers support to all families in our school community. If your family would like to be added to our weekly food bag schedule, please reach out to us. We are happy to connect you with this resource.

Thank you for helping us care for and support one another. We are grateful for our wonderful school community and all the ways our families come together to help others!

Fourth grade art class took our first walking field trip to Fairplay Beach! 🌿☀️ Students sketched ideas for our in-progress mural of Fairplay and enjoyed a hike around the beach. It was a beautiful morning filled with creativity, exploration, and learning outside the classroom. We can’t wait to go again! 🎨🥾

🍂 Outdoor Learning in Kindergarten! 🍂

Today, our kindergarteners learned how to make leaf rubbings while exploring the details and textures of leaves. They decided the rubbing was kind of like an x-ray for a leaf. Some students even had time to label their rubbings with the words leaf and stem! 🌿🍁

Learning is always more fun when we can take it outside! ☀️

🍎✨ Happy National Instructional Coach Day! ✨🍎

Today we celebrate Jan Toyne, an incredible instructional coach who makes a difference every single day!

Jan’s encouragement, expertise, and commitment to teachers and students help inspire growth, spark new ideas, and make our school community stronger. She has a special gift for meeting educators where they are, offering support when it’s needed, and celebrating every step forward.

Happy National Instructional Coach Day, Jan! We appreciate you more than words can say! 💫

🚒🔥 Fire safety fun!

Our 1st–3rd grade students joined firefighters from North-West Fire Protection District for an important lesson on fire and burn prevention. Students got hands-on practice with Stop, Drop, and Roll and learned how to safely crawl under smoke in a building. We’re grateful to our local firefighters for helping keep our students safe and prepared! ❤️👨‍🚒
