Get ready, Fairhaven High School Music Department! We are excited to announce that our performance ensemble students will be traveling to Philadelphia, PA next spring. Students will have the opportunity to perform and receive feedback from music professionals. More information will be shared in the coming weeks.

The Symphony Orchestra traveled to East and Wood elementary schools to show the instruments that fourth graders will be selecting to learn starting next year. Fourth graders heard the whole ensemble play (Imperial March was a hit!) and heard individual students. They had awesome questions for the high schoolers about their instruments. We saw so many raised hands when we asked who wanted to learn an instrument after seeing these demonstrations! 🥁🎺🎻🎷🪊 Thank you to FAME for renting an equipment van for us and to Mr. Barreiros, Mrs. Medeiros, and Mrs. Silva for their help today!

We are having a general meeting Tuesday June 9 at 6:30pm at SoCo Tavern to go over end of year business and what’s ahead! We’re hoping you can join us tomorrow night!

The Fairhaven Marching Band was up and going at 8 this morning to get the final details ready for the parade this Memorial Day weekend! We look forward to seeing all of the support on the parade route on Monday. As a reminder, the parade route has changed this year. We will begin back behind the high school and march north towards Riverside Cemetery.

The Fairhaven Marching Band would like to send our love and appreciation to all active and retired service members, and to the families of our veterans and fallen soldiers. It is a privilege to play for you in these events to recognize your sacrifices.

We did it! Thank you to Massachusetts Music Educators' Association for inviting the FHS Concert Choir to sing at the State House in Boston for Beacon Hill Day in support of music education in our schools. What an amazing experience! Fairhaven Public Schools Fairhaven High School

Congratulations to these EHMS and FHS Music students who were selected as recipients of a $500 private lessons scholarship through SEMSBA. These students were nominated by Mrs. McNulty and Ms. Bensler as exemplary members of the music department and completed an application to be reviewed by the scholarship committee. These students will now be able to further dedicate themselves to growing their musicianship through private instruction with a teacher of their choosing.

If you are interested in applying for a private lesson scholarship through SEMSBA, they open applications twice a year- once in the fall, and once in the spring. The only requirement to apply is that you auditioned for SEMSBA in the previous year at the junior or senior level. Acceptance to the festival is not required. Please contact Mrs. McNulty, Ms. Bensler, Mr. Stanton, or Mr. Flanagan if you are interested in applying in the future and would like their assistance in nominating you.

To our scholarship recipients, we are extremely proud of your accomplishments and are eager to watch you continue to learn and grow.
