The Fairhaven High School Marching Band made history this weekend, securing a impressive second-place finish in their very first competition.

Your Fairhaven Marching Band went out to their first (ever!!) competition at NESBA in New Bedford this afternoon, and took home 2nd place with a score of 71.400. Congratulations to all of our phenomenal student performers on this incredible accomplishment. Many thanks to all of our family and friends volunteers who were so crucial to the day going smoothly. They brought the enthusiasm! Additionally- thank you to our friends in the New Bedford High School Marching Band for hosting this afternoon! As always, it was great to bring our communities together for a day of great music!

You can catch the Fairhaven Marching Band at the two remaining FHS Football home games, at our Season Sendoff Showcase on Halloween, and at NESBA Finals on 11/1 where the marching band will compete against bands from all over New England.

Congratulations once again to our incredible students!

Ms. Bensler, Noralyn, and Jack all had a great time with Mr. Shanbrun and the Ford Middle School Back to School Band event! We are all super impressed with the Ford middle schoolers attention to detail and passion!

Thank you very much to Mr. Shanbrun for inviting us out 😀

Another week of marching band fun is on the way!

The second annual Season Preview Showcase for the Fairhaven Marching Band is nearly upon us! Bring the whole family and neighborhood down to catch the sneak peek at our fall show, The Legend of Odysseus. At this event, you will get to see the new skills our students have been working on, and watch the first run of the show! Concessions and FMB merch will also be available for purchase, and FAME will be running a 50-50 raffle. Tickets for this event will be sold as "pay what you can". All proceeds from this event will be put towards building props, bus fees, competition fees, and for the future of the Fairhaven Marching Band.

We are still in need of volunteers for this event! If you are able to assist, please contact Ms. Bensler at [email protected] or fill out the volunteer form in our bio.

Do you have any skills in painting, building, or design? Do you know how to push a cart? Or fold some pants? Or hold a drum? GREAT! The Fairhaven Marching Band is looking for adult volunteers to help make sure that the show runs smoothly at all scheduled performances this year. It will take a much larger team effort to pull off the show this year, and we are wanting to be organized in how we operate. If you think you may be of help to the students and staff, please click the link in our bio, scan the QR code, or email Ms. Bensler for information.

2026 Season is Loading......

The Symphony Orchestra traveled to East and Wood elementary schools to show the instruments that fourth graders will be selecting to learn starting next year. Fourth graders heard the whole ensemble play (Imperial March was a hit!) and heard individual students. They had awesome questions for the high schoolers about their instruments. We saw so many raised hands when we asked who wanted to learn an instrument after seeing these demonstrations! 🥁🎺🎻🎷🪊 Thank you to FAME for renting an equipment van for us and to Mr. Barreiros, Mrs. Medeiros, and Mrs. Silva for their help today!
