Can you guess the study this week in the Giggly Giraffe classroom? They are studying jungle animals! It's fun to feed the giraffes green leaves and count the number of leaves. Number recognition is one of the skills we work on in the classroom to help us prepare for kindergarten and feeding giraffes is a good way to learn!

Pond Study
Our two-year-olds were busy matching and comparing pond animals and plants! They were also exploring different colors. Did you know matching is a precursor to math? And that our frogs were green! Our Giraffe classroom knows that learning through play is the best way!

At WKELC, we celebrated National Book Day early by having The Lane Libraries bookmobile visit our center! Our children were so excited to be able to choose books and read them sitting in the bookmobile! Thank you Lane Library for coming to Wilde Kingdom Early Learning Center! We appreciate you!

Our Tiger classroom is conducting a water study this month! Today they explored different colors of water and using a dropper to put drops of water inside circles! Fine motor activities in preschool help prepare our children for handwriting skills in kindergarten. At WKELC, we know that learning through play is the best way!

Simple Machines Study
Today, our Reptile classroom studied wheels and axels as part of their Simple Machine Study. They were able to experiment with how a wagon works using wheels and axels. As part of their activity, they filled the wagon with colored pom poms and then had to sort the pom poms by recognizing and reading the names of the colors. At WKELC, we make learning come alive for our children!
