Fairfield Prep alumnus and Athletic Hall of Fame inductee Chris Drury ’94 has reached the pinnacle of the hockey world once again as the 2026 U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team captured a historic Gold Medal in Milan, Italy! Serving as an Assistant GM for the team, Chris helped guide the squad to a thrilling 2-1 overtime win against Canada, a victory that marks the first time the U.S. has stood atop the Olympic podium since the 1980 "Miracle on Ice" nearly 46 years ago.

A former Stanley Cup champion and three-time Olympian, Chris brought the same winning pedigree to Team USA that he did all the way back at Fairfield Prep. A standout student-athlete, he led the Jesuits to a state championship in 1991 before his storied career at Boston University and in the NHL. Now the President and GM of the New York Rangers, Chris continues to embody the values of leadership and excellence he has carried since his days at Prep.

The gold medal win is a testament to the dedication Chris has shown at every level of the game, proving once again that Prep alumni lead the way on the world’s biggest stages.

Mark and Lara visited campus to lead an interactive workshop with our Percussion Ensemble class, demonstrating the power of their patented "drum kit in a box." Hand-built in Fairfield, the BeatSeat allows a performer to deliver the full sound of a kick and snare from a single seated position.

: Last month, we were honored to celebrate a true Prep legend, Mr. Bob Bernier!
After 38 incredible years of service, Bob was recognized as our 2025 Ignatian Educator of the Year.
From the hockey rink to the golf course, and from the Advancement office to his first love, the Latin classroom, Bob has been the embodiment of a “Man for Others.”
As a teacher, coach, department chair, and Prep Dad, his 38-year career is synonymous with the leadership and brotherhood that define Fairfield Prep. While he has officially stepped into retirement, his impact on generations of Prep brothers will be felt for years to come. Salve, Magister!

This issue features a reflection on the groundbreaking for the Barron Center for Arts & Recreation, a day that ushered in a new era for Prep as we work to complete our building footprint and further our commitment to the whole boy.
