The Banyan School was founded in 1993 to educate elementary, middle school and high school students with learning disabilities by identifying individual strengths and abilities, continuously monitoring individual progress, and adapting the curriculum to meet each student's changing educational needs. Recognizing that each student entering Banyan School will have his or her own learning style, the

students are taught compensatory strategies to ensure academic success. Next, we monitor each student's progress to be sure that a particular teaching method is appropriate. Finally, we adapt the curriculum to meet each student's changing educational needs. Banyan School has elementary, middle school and high school programs. The elementary school program is designed to fully develop basic academic and social skills. The middle and high school program is designed to apply these skills, while emphasizing organizational strategies and study techniques. The goal of these efforts is to prepare students to become independent learners.

Banyan High School has once again been recognized as one of the Best Communities for Music Education for 2026.

Banyan High School continues to do great things.

We are proud to introduce Banyan Creation Studio, a student-operated Etsy shop designed to cultivate authentic, hands-on vocational experiences within a structured and supportive environment. Under the guidance and supervision of staff, students are actively engaged in the full spectrum of entrepreneurial practice—including product development, inventory management, order fulfillment, and business operations.

This initiative represents a significant advancement in expanding in-house worksite opportunities while intentionally fostering autonomy, responsibility, and real-world skill acquisition. By embedding applied learning into meaningful enterprise, Banyan Creation Studio empowers students to build confidence, develop transferable competencies, and participate in a dynamic model of supported independence.
We look forward to witnessing their continued growth as creators, collaborators, and emerging entrepreneurs.
