1941 Dodge WC 10 Carryall
This truck has a long and interesting life. Shortly after being built, I was told that it was transported to the Northwest, and was involved the construction of the Alcan Highway. The project began in February of 1942, and opened in October 1942. A historic photo was taken of an identical Carryall used for a commemorative 50th Anniversary US Postal stamp in 1992.
To the best of my knowledge it has never been restored, only driven patched and painted as needed through the years. The previous owner said the engine had been rebuilt prior to my purchase. I’ve owned and driven it 13+ years—less than 5,000 miles total. It has been parked in a climate controlled garage during my entire ownership. It has always started instantly when driven weekly. It has the driver’s seat, jump seat, and middle seat. The only modification has been a carefully welded steel top replacing the original fabric covered panel. Of course, turn signals and tail light upgrades were added for safety.
If a guy was looking for a Carryall to restore as original as possible, this would be the ideal choice. You can enjoy it daily if you wish, restoring gradually as time and budget allow. I searched for decades to find one to restore in much, much, worse condition and it needed everything. The Carryall has a transferable title.

This 1942 WC54 Ambulance is currently registered in AZ with historic vehicle license plates. When I purchased it, it had a Chevy 350. I got it running, but the vibration damper crankshaft bolt is stripped from trying to crank it by hand. I had planned to install a 360 Dodge engine in it, but my donor engine had low compression in two cylinders, which caused the project to stall. It has a few new parts from VPW, such as the gas cap, glove box, and door. Original radiator, turn signal lights, and other parts are also included.
The gas tank is mounted but not installed. It is from a Ford Mustang. Either the 350 or the Dodge 360 is available to the buyer. They both include a manual transmission.
The motivation for the sale is a recent neighbor's complaint to the county about my property having too many old trucks on it. It's a good problem to have, but some neighbors do not share our appreciation of old Dodge trucks!

Dodge WC 54 for sale
1942 WC54 Ambulance has been a project of mine for the last five years. It is in worse shape now than when I bought it. It is currently registered in AZ with historic vehicle license plates. A little winter maintenance, fluid check, a start and warm up and a little time with your friends,
Christmas is right around the corner, what did you get for your Dodge this year?

It’s Sunday Morning, grab your cup of coffee and go pump that brake pedal a dozen times, make sure the Power Wagon stays happy.

Let’s sit on the Tailgate this evening, catch up and share some adventures.
The last few months have been busy, and over the last year, well I even worked on my own trucks, well I was motivated by fellow Dodgers who were bored.
Bored Dodgers? Is that a real, true life event?
It is and I witnessed it and was apart of this bizarre and rare event, all things lined up perfectly.
The weather was nice, the air was right and everything else was running, stopping and performing the way it should. Three like minded Dodgers sat upon a dusty red creeper seat, an overturned slightly used but still fantastic 5 gallon bucket and a dull white and green folding lawn chair that may be older than me. Discussions were being had about, future plans and builds, life and family and well our favorite topic, Power Wagons.
Tim, tilted the same green power wagon hat with hat I believe he has worn since well, I first met him.
No scratch that, the second hat, my dog ate the first one. He said, “Ed, those parts in your parts room?”
It caught me off guard. I thought. Paused, tilted my own hat back. I walked in, looked at the shelves.
“Oh those, there mine.”
Dave squinted, that look he had very similar to when he’s about to go buy another truck.
Looked at me and said.
“Why don’t you put em on?”
I thought about that. In my own mind I thought to myself, what an odd thing to ask, put my parts on my truck? Why do I want to do that?
Then Tim, maybe with a Switchback in hand,
used the heels of his dusty brown boots, rolled over set the ice cold beverage on the curled running board and said “Huh, yep we’re doing this today.”
Now don’t get me wrong, I was intrigued. In some ways felt peer pressure coming on like a 100 year old press, leaking oil and straining against an I beam that had yet to be molded into shape.
It’s not that I didn’t want to wasn’t motivated nor was it due to lack of skill, you see the cobblers children never have new shoes.
Simple projects began, the neglect That had been happening on my favorite truck was well, ridiculous.
And for that matter some of the parts installed were on the same level, 2 piece custom hardened axle shafts, the Warn locking hubs that I had in a dusty card board box for a dozen years. They finally found there home.
The steering gear box bolts took about 4 turns each, huh I thought, “that’s what caused the outer column tube to break.”
I found the love again that for quite some time had been faded out of sight and mind but truly made me smile.
Thanks brothers for all of your help, love and motivation over the years.
Now tell me, what have you been doing?
In 7 months we gather once again in the fields of Iowa to do what we do best, enjoy the Dodges and spend time with one another.
Ed.
