We're hiring a Youth Outreach Educator!

This full time position will be responsible for implementing research-based and approved educational programs, including youth outreach to local schools and community partners; promote 4-H state and county programs, events, and activities, working with local partners and media; support other county staff in the delivery modes of 4-H clubs, Clover Kids, school enrichment, after-school programs, days camps, county fair, workshops, and more; and will assist in developing and implementing a year-round county 4-H recruitment and retention strategy to bring diverse youth from entry-point activities into long-term involvement in 4-H. Some evenings and weekend hours will be required.

The Youth Outreach Educator (YOE) will focus on Positive Youth Development while working with youth, volunteers, regional and state Extension and 4-H staff, and other professionals to plan, implement, and evaluate a progressive series of educational programs and experiences that work toward multiple life skill outcomes (productive citizens, outstanding communicators, effective leaders, and successful learners). The County Youth Coordinator will empower youth to reach their full potential through Youth Adult Partnerships and research-based experiences.

We’re Hiring SPIN Club Leaders

Do you enjoy working with youth and sharing hands-on learning experiences? Jefferson County Extension is seeking enthusiastic individuals to serve as 4-H SPIN (Special Interest) Club Leaders for the 2026–2027 program year.

SPIN Club Leaders work with students in grades 4–12, guiding engaging educational activities during Friday afternoon club meetings from September through May. Leaders collaborate with a co-leader and Extension staff, use provided lesson plans, prepare materials, and help create a fun and supportive learning environment where youth can explore new interests and develop valuable skills.

This part-time, temporary position is ideal for individuals who enjoy teaching, mentoring, and working as part of a team. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have graduated high school (since seniors in high school can be members of SPIN clubs), have experience working with youth, possess strong communication skills, and be able to pass a background check.

The position offers 3–4 hours of work most weeks. Wages are based on experience.
