🏠📦 BIG Boxes, BIG Ideas, BIG Imaginations! This week, our inquiry-based learning is centered around the question, “What Is a Home?” 🏡
Today, our little architects and engineers put their creativity to work for BIG BOX BUILDING DAY! Using cardboard boxes and endless imagination, our children explored what makes a home while collaborating, problem-solving, and bringing their ideas to life! Because at Goddard, learning isn't just about finding answers. It's about asking questions, exploring possibilities, and discovering what we can create together!

A big thank you to the teacher volunteers who helped keep our October tradition of costumes at the front door for morning arrival greetings. Usually it’s Ms. Amy, but with the Circle of Excellence event his week, Ms. Sandra, Ms. Lesly, Ms. Misty and Ms. Adelina stepped in!

We have a BIG anniversary celebration this month for a total of 38 combined years of Goddard dedication! Please help us celebrate FIVE incredible members of our Goddard Fairfield family:

Between these five amazing women are 38 years of teaching, nurturing, laughing, learning, comforting, encouraging, and creating memories with our children. Faculty longevity is something we are incredibly proud of at Goddard Fairfield. Having experienced educators who know our school, our families, and our community makes such a difference and we are so grateful for everything these five bring to our school each day. Happy Goddard Anniversary, ladies! Here’s to many more years of making a difference!

October Teacher of the Month — Ms. Joshualy! Please join us in congratulating Ms. Joshualy, our October Teacher of the Month! Ms. Joshualy is a new addition to our Goddard Fairfield team this school year as one of our All School Assistants, but in just a short amount of time, she has already made a tremendous impact! She has been instrumental in helping our classrooms get settled into the new school year, jumping in wherever she is needed and quickly becoming someone our teachers know they can count on. In fact, during just the first two weeks of school, we received multiple compliments from teachers about the support, positivity, and help she has provided in their classrooms. That says A LOT about the impression she has already made! It only seemed fitting that she be recognized as our October Teacher of the Month. We are so lucky to have Ms. Joshualy as part of our Goddard family, and we cannot wait to see all that she accomplishes throughout her Goddard career. Something tells us she is just getting started! Congratulations, Ms. Joshualy! So very well deserved!

⌨️ Click, clack… Pre-K went old school! While exploring how technology has changed over time, our Pre-K friends got to try out a REAL typewriter donated by one of our families! New ribbon in, little fingers ready… and away they went! Turns out 4-year-olds think typewriters are VERY cool. Old technology. Brand-new experience.

Kindergarten readiness can show up in everyday moments, not just big milestones. A few signals to notice:

1. They’re building confidence to try things independently. Examples: walking into a room first, asking for help, or giving something new a try.

2. They’re starting to recognize the letters in their name, even if they’re not reading just yet.

3. They’re showing care and responsibility at home. This could include things like helping pack a bag, feeding a pet, putting away toys, or getting through part of their routine with a little more ease.

Every child grows at their own pace - and readiness looks different for every family. Their preschool teachers can be a great partner in noticing strengths, celebrating progress, and helping you think through what comes next.
