Like it or not someone is going to make you the villain of their story.

When you enter sports, ofcourse you are gonna compete.
When you enter business, ofcourse you are gonna compete.
When you enter immigration, ofcourse you are gonna compete.
When you are in love with a partner or family, you are gonna be competing!

Choose what you are competing for!

I put my focus on being better, falling in love with the process in each category and look at that magic.

No one takes away from you your lessons!!
No one takes away your light, your customers.

The point is those who play, understand it was never about the win or loss, it was always about the journey!

I always asked - what am I learning here?

And tadaaaaa, I found you can be magical and find magic both at the same time in any field!!!

In my imagination, I crave for a love affair between a bird and a fish!

That’s the paradox of hope and despair for me.

Somehow it never lets me sleep and it never lets me give up either 🫠♥️

In my reality , I didn’t know the difference between swimming with a shark or dolphin, I did both at once and clearly I explored the depths of silence all at once 💝

These 3 people have seen me at my absolute best and worst!

They pick my phone at 3 am’s.
India or South Africa, no , time zones never fu***ng mattered.

I got lucky to have the best sister in the world!
And I got lucky with Veda and Chandan!

They know my call and understand my silence is BIG CRY for help!

I don’t dare to miss their calls. I have done it in the past and taken all of you for granted and I was a bitch to all 3 of you.

After making amends, I got rid of my shame and guilt!
Yep the rule is - you pick up , you explain and you shut up.

They call me out on my lies, my bu****it stories.

They love me for my absolute love for wearing same socks for last two decades. They absolutely love that I can’t even cook chole/chickpeas and yeah I can pretend I know all spices.

All 3 of you know - when I fall in love and I fall out of love. Yes the 3 year mark.

You wait patiently for decades! Ah. She got her heartbroken again! They love my love stories more than I do.

Let the ice cream roll. Turn the Gilmore girls on repeat!

Come home Shreya is the constant song, you gladly stubborn disciplined half ass!

The irony is - All 3 of them, Dhriti , Chandan and Veda can trade me off for a brand new phone , I think from last two decades!!

Thank you for being so loving and kind!!

I literally didn’t know how would I have survived the last two decades without you all 🫠☺️❤️🫂

I completely believe when we live a life, the only reason is we have a witness to that you actually lived.

Dhriti was my witness at home, siblings what a gift!
Veda saw me in my journey in US, again a blessing to have someone in a foreign country who not only protects your heart, but cares for it too.
Chandan saw my journey in sports, and it was a blessing to have someone that you can be so different, yet completely be yourself !

And thank you for fixing my burned food on FaceTime ! I don’t say I need ya , they know now that I want to.

Hi friends,

I get this a lot, you have so much warmth. How ?

Let me tell you about my roots! I was born in Jaipur, India.

My great granny gave birth to 19 children. She was 97 when she passed.
My granny gave birth to 5 kids.
My mom gave to two.

I grew up in a BIG family.

My roots are from Jaipur, called as PINK city.

It is famous for its heritage and culture.
The hospitality you receive here is unmatched.

I love my roots, and no people aren’t loud here!

They are sweet and soft!

Being in a joint family, gave me a natural warmth and longing for a BIG family.

We all understand each other, we were so unique and yet we celebrated each other.

No, we don’t say we have to make time. We just show up here freely, because we want to. This is where I learned that family is a priority. And love is given without conditions.

My cousins, gosh I can’t even count them 💝 No kidding we tried keeping a book of how many we got!

And I know they deeply miss me.
This is one place where I am not called Shreya at all!

Most of them don’t even that name!

I am home there and I guess there is no other place than Jaipur.

And yes we take kite flying very seriously here 🌷❤️🫂

Being in the US for almost 8 years now, the longing to be back is something I don’t talk a lot about. But I can always find that pure love in my heart with these memories, and be so grateful to experience this unconditional love of everyone!!!
