Murph is more than a workout. Named in honor of Navy Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, it’s a chance to honor sacrifice, push together, and remember those who gave their lives serving our country.

Coach James Howe is a CFS coach, builder, and one of the gym’s owners. You’ll most often find him welding a pull-up bar to the rig and tackling some other project around the gym. James is responsible for much of the incredible construction work that makes our gym the awesome space it is today. Make sure you think about James the next time you’re doing kipping pull ups!

Coach Tony DeTomasi is a CFS coach and one of the gym’s owners. You’ll usually catch him coaching on Fridays and Saturdays. Bring in a friend on a Saturday for a partner workout, say hello to Tony and ask him how to catch a polar bear!

Coach Dale Matsuoka is truly a CFS original! Dale has been with the gym since nearly the beginning. If you stop by the gym on a Sunday, Dale is the coach you’re guaranteed to see. Why? Because he rarely misses one! Have you been to Open Gym on a Sunday?

Yesterday at Trial By Fire, four of our athletes stepped onto the competition floor and delivered. Every bit of their hard work showed. Jasmin and Justin took third in their divisions. Kari took second and Rachel took third in their division. So proud of the way they showed up and competed. Huge thank you to our gym fam for bringing the energy and support all day long.

Coach Justin Dikitanan is CFS’s lead barbell coach. You can find him every Saturday at 7:30 a.m. coaching barbell classes and helping athletes refine their Olympic lifts—an essential skill set for improving in CrossFit as well.
