A Wealth Tax 10/28/2021

Pretty good article about the pros and cons of a wealth tax. From an economic pov, there tends to be a huge discrepancy in the tax burden shouldered by those earning middle- to- average incomes, compared with the rich and wealthy, who find ways to pay down their tax.

The argument will remain, what is fair, and how and what to tax.

We welcomed Jenna H as our guest.

Peter was his usual Mr. Smooth as Toastmaster and Frank did a great job with Table Topics asking people to submit a secret about themselves that no one else knew, by writing the secret on a 3x5 card. Then, the Table Topics speaker had to pick a random card, read the secret and then guess who the author was. Great exercise and thank you Frank!

Tim gave a moving talk about Kobe's character as Tim had met him years ago. Ann evaluated Tim with her constructive comments.

Eric was UMM Counter, also as Director of Education offered up some motivational advice, which has given birth to a new segment for our meetings- Motivational Minute.

Al timed and didn't miss a beat.

Kat evaluated the meeting- Welcome back Kat.

Motivational Minute:

This will actually be a 2-3 minute segment that anyone can sign up for in the meeting. The idea is to present something motivational, inspiring, or uplifting that helps the audience in some way- whether it’s simple advice, a true story in the news, a personal experience, an inspirational quote-whatever.

This will be a regular part of our meeting like Table Topics.

Thanks all for those of you who attended and see you most likely on the first Monday of March.

"So" is the new ummm. The word "so" is meant to serve as a connector between phrases. Not as a word to begin a new sentence. I am watching a news channel where a nationally recognized personality is using the word "so" so much that I feel like I am in "so-ing" class.
