Fusion Academy in Fairfield, CT opened in 2017 as Fusion’s 35th campus nationwide. Fusion Fairfield is a private school where classes are one-to-one: one student and one teacher per classroom. Our Teacher/Mentors can personalize curriculum and pacing for their students’ strengths, interests, and learning style. Students may attend full-time for middle and high school or part-time with classes for credit, tutoring and mentoring, post-secondary counseling, and more. We offer rolling enrollment so students can start at any point, even mid-semester or mid-year.

Our 2nd Annual ASL Signing Bee! 🐝
HOW IT WORKS:
- Our houses have team meetings throughout the beginning of the year… come with a plan and use ASL to gather points for their team! Every word they sign is a point towards the house cup! 🏆
🐘- 37 words 🐸- 45 🧊🐶- 35 🐈🐝- 51
- Though we all want to win and sign the most words… ultimately it’s about inclusion and spreading awareness! 🫶
- Deaf Awareness Month is so important to our campus and we love to show it 🤟💜

Math classes at most schools are designed for the average learner. And for K, numbers felt overwhelming — the pace, the pressure, all of it.

For K, 1-to-1 learning at Fusion Academy is changing everything. Because when a teacher can slow down, explain in a way that clicks, and build her confidence step by step, her grades improve, her understanding deepens, and the anxiety melts away.

When learning matches the student, everything shifts.

We 💜 our students!

And it shows in everything we do: from one-to-one instruction built around how they learn, to schedules that honor their passions, to a community where they feel genuinely seen and supported.

Because when you build school around the student, ✨everything✨ changes.

Thank you to our team at Fusion Upper West Side for capturing this adorable video!

In conventional schools, motivation often comes from external pressure — grades, competition, fear. But that kind of motivation is fragile. It exhausts students. 🥺

Real motivation comes from something else: knowing you have support. Knowing you can ask for help without judgment. Knowing someone is paying attention to whether you're actually succeeding.

When a student feels that, they stop pushing through obstacles and start solving them. And focus becomes possible.

A parent looks at their son, terrified of school, disheartened by education, and can't imagine how he'll make it four more years.

Then he finds a place that gets him. That wants to know all the interesting, quirky stuff he's thinking about.

The relief a parent feels in that moment — when their child is no longer just surviving school but actually belonging — is indescribable 💜

Who cut onions?! 🥹

We are so proud to be the school that changes everything for so many families. Every day, we watch students find their confidence and transform their relationship with school.

If Fusion has changed your family's story, we'd love to hear about it. Share your experience on Trustpilot — the link is in our bio 💜

When a student struggles in traditional school, the blame usually falls on the student. Lazy. Unmotivated. Not trying hard enough. 😵‍💫

But what if the problem isn't the student? What if it's that the system was never designed for how they learn? One lesson, one pace, 30 kids — that's efficient. But it's not effective for every learner.

At Fusion, we built something different. One teacher, one student, one approach tailored to how that specific student learns. And everything changes.

Getting a diagnosis for your child can feel like relief and uncertainty at the same time.

Relief because finally, you understand why traditional school isn't working. It's not laziness. It's not attitude. She learns differently.

But uncertainty because knowing your child learns differently doesn't automatically tell you what environment will work. That's the second piece. And it's just as important as the diagnosis.

A professional evaluation is crucial. But what's transformative is finding a school — a structure, a pace, a type of support — that actually fits how your child learns.

If your child comes home from school and completely shuts down or spirals — you're not alone. And there's actually a reason for it.

Amber Larson, our Director of Social Emotional Learning and Mental Health, was recently featured in SheKnows, breaking down why so many kids hold it together all day at school and fall apart the moment they get home.

From what after-school meltdowns are really communicating to what parents can do to help, her insights are ones every parent needs to hear.

Belonging changes everything. When a student feels seen, known, and accepted for who they are - something shifts. They show up differently. They take risks. They begin to believe there is a place for them.

It was an honor leading this workshop on The Belonging Gap across our Massachusetts campuses:

Fusion Newton
Fusion Burlington
Fusion Hingham

We shared stories, got vulnerable, and talked about the small, often invisible ways educators communicate to a student: I see you. You matter. You belong here. 💜

Days like this remind me how much I love this work and how much I believe in the people doing it.

For 11 years at Barnstable Academy, Jeff has been doing something rare: he's built a classroom where curiosity is contagious. Students leave his STEM classes still buzzing about experiments and discoveries.

But Jeff's impact ripples far beyond his classroom. He opens his door to colleagues. Leads professional development. Mentors teachers. Organizes the school events. And after the bell rings? He's hosting game nights, building community.

One parent said it perfectly: "For the first time, my son does not hate science. And he gives all the credit to Mr. Conklin." That's the kind of teacher who changes how students see themselves.

Congratulations, Jeff! We are so proud to have you as part of the Fusion Education Group family 🧡
