Fairfield University nursing students Alexander (Alex) Stam ‘27, Victoria Koch ‘27, Emma Muller ‘27, Carmella Bevil ‘27, Lauren Hoppe ‘27, and Elena Michaels ‘27 successfully completed Northwell Health's Summer Nurse Externship, gaining valuable experience in patient care and the opportunity to work alongside fellow Stags.

Forty-two nurse anesthesia residents marked the beginning of their clinical education at this year’s Nurse Anesthesia Capping Ceremony, coming together for the first time as a full cohort from Austin, Texas and Fairfield, Connecticut.

The ceremony featured guest speaker Yana Krmic, CRNA, an experienced clinician, leader, advocate, author, and former president of the New York State Association of New York State Association of Nurse Anesthetists (NYSANA), who encouraged students as they prepare to enter the field.

With the support of the Fairfield Egan community behind them, these future nurse anesthetists step forward with a strong sense of purpose and responsibility as they begin this next chapter.

Arts Institute Hosts Visit to Tenement Museum 08/14/2026

Students from Fairfield Egan and the Fairfield University John Charles Meditz College of Arts and Sciences traveled to New York City this February for an interdisciplinary learning experience at the Tenement Museum.

Led by faculty in public health and the arts, the visit encouraged students to explore the intersection of history, culture, and lived experience while connecting classroom learning to the world around them.

Fifty-five Accelerated Second Degree Nursing Students (ASDNU) from Fairfield Egan, along with nine internal transfer nursing students, recently celebrated the start of their Clinical Initiation—a powerful step from learning in the classroom to caring for patients in real-world settings.

Surrounded by faculty, family, and friends, students celebrated not only their hard work but also their commitment to compassionate, whole-person care, at the heart of Fairfield University's Jesuit tradition.
