Fairfield Egan, through its Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)-funded Maternity Care (MatCare) Nursing Workforce Expansion grant, led a mobile simulation training at the Family Birthing Center (FBC) at Hartford HealthCare Manchester Memorial Hospital.
Over two days, the Egan School, in collaboration with OBGYN and Midwifery of Connecticut, hosted three sessions for more than 30 nurses and providers focused on maternal emergency preparedness.

Hannah Falb '26, presented her research project, "The Importance of Nursing Education on Early Sepsis Interventions to Improve Patient Outcomes," at the annual Student Research Symposium.
Her research provided an overview of sepsis and highlighted the importance of recognizing early symptoms to improve patient outcomes and increase awareness among nurses.

Fairfield Egan nursing majors are strengthening campus safety through a student-developed interactive map that uses geospatial data to provide instant walking directions to on-campus AEDs and EpiPens.
Students in the “Population Health” course identified and mapped emergency devices across campus, then partnered with the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to integrate the information into LiveSafe, Fairfield’s mobile safety application.

Fairfield Egan recently hosted the 2026 End-of-Year Social Work Celebration, where five students were inducted into the Phi Alpha International Honor Society. Membership in Phi Alpha recognizes students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and excellence in social work.
The Class of 2026 undergraduate social work graduates were also celebrated, all of whom will continue their education in advanced standing Master of Social Work (MSW) programs this fall.
