✨ Last Thursday, Rotarian Angel Maguire welcomed guest speaker Pam Barbee, Executive Director of the Southern 14 Workforce Investment Board (WIOA). Pam shared the wide range of career and training services available in our region—from skill assessments and job search support to workforce preparation, internships, and more!

🍽️ Our meal was provided by Bailey’s Bistro and featured a hearty plate of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, baked beans, and lemon bars. Delicious fuel for great conversation and community learning!

Learner Spotlight – Genova’s Journey!
Meet Genova, who joined the IECC Adult Education program to improve her English and support her family. Genova is an English as a Second Language Learner through the AVL Program. Genova and her Tutor, Peggy, received a 2025 Spotlight on Achievement Award from the Secretary of State. This award is given to only 10 Learners each year across the state! Her story is one of many showing how adult education strengthens families and communities.

Welcome 2022!

This year the IECC Adult Education program would like to build a close connection with you and share our personal side!
One campaign we will be starting this year is "Meet the Teacher!" We will share a teacher bio with you each week until you have met the whole team. Let's get started!

Meet Regina Draper!
Gina is our Flora AM Adult Basic and Adult Secondary Education Instructor. She is also our FCC English as a Second Language Instructor. Gina has taught Adult Education for Frontier Community College for a total of five years and is also teaching English as a Second Language for FCC at college level.
Bio: "Hello, my name is Gina Draper, and I have been an Adjunct Adult Education Instructor for 5 years at Frontier Community College. I absolutely love the teaching profession and have experience teaching Pre-K students to adults. Teaching is my passion, and I have been blessed to work alongside some of the best educators and administrators in the field. I attained my teaching degree at Murray State University. While at FCC, I have taught Parenting, Basic Computers, GED, Online GED, Healthcare Bridge, Transitions, and ESL classes.
I am an avid reader who loves to share my love of reading with my students. It gives me great pleasure to introduce students to different genres of books and to inspire a love of reading for those who might not have read an entire book before.
I have always known that I wanted to be a teacher and to change the world. It can start with making a difference in just one student’s life. In my classes, my students know that I am their greatest cheerleader. I find such joy in seeing them succeed and live their best lives.
I am married to Michael Draper and have two wonderful young adults, Klayton and Kloe. My biggest joy in life has been watching them both grow into wonderful, kind, and smart human beings. In my free time, I love to spend time with my family, read, shop, and vacation out west. When I do get to travel, I keep a travel log with pictures for my students to enjoy too."

Hello everyone! This week's "Meet the Teacher" spotlight is on our Lincoln Trail College instructor.
Meet Danyelle Ayres!
Danyelle is our LTC Adult Basic and Adult Education instructor as for our morning LTC class and our evening class. She is also the Adult Education Academic Support at Licoln Trail College. Danyelle has taught Adult Education for four years and is also currently teaching the support class for the Integrated and Education Training (IET) Welding program along with remedial classes for the college.

My very first job was at a small-town pizza place that doesn't exist anymore, Pit Stop Pizza. I love waitressing still to this day and Mountain Dew.

Why did you decide to become an instructor for the Adult Education program?
I enjoy helping people achieve their goals. I like motivating and encouraging them to keep striving for what they want. I like to see the sense of accomplishment they have as they progress through the stages of our program.
