Last spring, Camas County Schools applied to join BSU’s BroncoBOLD program, and we were selected. We are the smallest school district to have been chosen, and we are honored to be part of such an extraordinary program. With that being said, the journey has officially begun… On August 26, 2026, our student ambassadors and advisors attended their first BroncoBOLD event at Boise State University, "a program focused on lessening stigma, increasing awareness, and fostering resilience surrounding mental health."
Throughout the experience, our students gained valuable tools and knowledge that they are bringing back to Camas County. As student advocates, they are committed to sharing this important message with their peers and helping create a school community where everyone feels heard, supported, and valued.
As part of the program, students identified their “why.” After thoughtful discussion, they chose to focus on bridging the gap between athletes and non-athletes, recognizing that everyone has a voice.
CCHS’s BroncoBOLD advisors, Michelle Ruetmann and Nicole Wolf could not be more proud of these students. Nicole Wolf stated, “As their advisors, we have the privilege of watching them step up as leaders, advocates, and positive influencers within our school. We know they will make a meaningful impact on those around them.”
Mental health matters, and at Camas County, we stand behind that. We are proud of our students for choosing to be part of the conversation, breaking down stigma, and helping build a stronger, more connected school community. This year, the National Christmas tree is coming off of the Salmon River Ranger District within the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest in Idaho. They are trying to collect 10,000 ornaments to help decorate the National Christmass tree outside, as well as some of the trees inside the federal buildings in Washington D.C. Mrs. Pine wanted to take part in this effort and the Kindergarten through 3rd grade students painted ornaments for the Christmas trees. These ornaments will be heading to the Forest Service office in Kamiah, and then make their way to Washington D.C. The kids had a great time painting the ornaments.
