WHEN: Saturday, July 11th, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE: Pohick Bay Regional Park, 6501 Pohick Bay Drive, Lorton, VA

WHAT: So Kids SOAR will be bringing together youth with physical and developmental disabilities, their families, trained water-skiers, boaters, and volunteers for a free day of waterskiing, tubing, kayaking, and more! All participants will be given the opportunity to either water ski or tube or kayak. Due to funding and volunteer constraints, we will only be able to ski a smaller number of participants this year but we are hoping that with the offering of 3 different activities on the water, we will give everyone a chance to experience at least one activity on the water + we will have our usual moon bounce, snow cones, and lunch for ALL attending!

So Kids SOAR and On The Edge Children's Foundation bring you another exciting year on the water!

Today we gathered to celebrate the incredible life of Mike McGregor at a beautiful memorial service filled with love, stories, and memories. 💛

His family and friends have organized a special way to honor him:

A Memorial Ski Run – "Be Like Mike" 🗓️ Sunday, March 1 at Noon 📍 Meet in the Blue Ridge Adaptive Snow Sports room / Eastwind Room (in the Clocktower building) at Liberty Mountain Resort between 11:00–11:45 AM

We'll hit the slopes together to remember Mike's passion for skiing, nature, helping others and his iconic yellow helmet!

Hopefully there are still some "Be Like Mike" stickers available featuring his iconic yellow helmet.

No season pass? No rentals? No problem—BRASS (Blue Ridge Adaptive Snow Sports) is generously providing complimentary access so everyone can join in.

Come celebrate Mike's spirit on the mountain he loved. All are welcome—bring your skis/snowboard, your stories, and your smile.

There is a service for Mike McGregor Feb. 28th. Visitation is 10 to 11 at Burrier Queen Funeral Home at 1212 Old Liberty Rd., Sykesville, MD. At 11:00 there will be a Catholic Mass. At 1:00 there will be a reception at the Bucs Club at the bottom of the McGregor's driveway.

We are heartbroken to share the loss of Mike McGregor — a longtime BRASS team member, devoted mentor, and true pioneer in adaptive sports. Mike's passion for making sport accessible to everyone left a mark on this community that will never fade.
