Family Tip of the Day:
Visit the book section at Costco the next time you do grocery shopping! They have some of the best books to teach our children valuable life lessons!

Family Tip of the Day:
Scrapbooking = One of my favorite hobbies is to scrapbook, but I hadn’t done it in a long time. So, this past weekend, my daughter and I went on a shopping trip to and we bought all the materials to make our very own “ABC Pictorial/Alphabet Scrapbook”.

We placed a letter on every page and for each sticker, I introduced a new vocabulary word and provided a definition for what it was! It was so much fun!

If you’re looking for a great activity for toddlers to build their foundational reading skills, I would highly recommend creating your own alphabet/vocabulary books!

Now, every time we get new stickers, we can place it on the letter page that it corresponds with! It’s never ending!

She had so much fun, I’m going to see if we can start making some simple sentences with our next scrapbook!

The best part about this project...when Morgan grows up, we can pass this scrapbook along to another parent and child to start and have the same bonding experience that we did! 😍

Family Tip of the Day:
Create and enjoy experiences as a family!

Today, my daughter, husband and I went to the Pumpkin Patch and Morgan was able to recognize familiar things in her scenery because we have read books about the fall season and Halloween!

Reading is fun and making connections to real-life experiences enhances the learning for your children even more!

Family Tip for the Day:
Promote bilingualism within your own family! Our children’s brains are like sponges and they find learning a new language fun and easy! We like to read books that embrace diversity, culture and languages!

While my daughter learns a new language, I also like to incorporate fun books such as these Disney books where she can match the pictures within a scenery!

After we read these books at home, they make great books for the long car rides!

Family Tip of the Day:

Every month when I get paid, I set aside an amount of money to buy a new set of books for my daughter! Besides providing food, shelter and water; knowledge from books and experiences in life are the next in line when it comes to providing the essentials for her!

This week is Educator’s Week so I bought 19 books for my daughter and I was able to get a 25% discount!

Buying books can definitely be an investment, but when your child is within the ages of 0-5, and the vocabulary exposure from talking, speaking, and reading to them is a strong predictor for future academic success, then it’s the most important investment you can make right now!

Other great places to purchase books are thrift stores, children’s secondhand stores, Homegoods stores, garage sales and online stores such as Facebook Marketplace.

Your child’s school library and your city library are also a great place and resource!

All in all, reading is part of our daily schedule. Before we watch our favorite family shows on TV, we always spend at least twenty minutes reading at least 3-5 books. If we want to read more, then we read more!

My daughter loves books, she loves learning and I’m grateful to be able to instill a love for knowledge and experiences in her life!
