Seven years of leadership. Seven years of building. Seven years of moving Miles College forward. 💜💛

As we celebrate President Bobbie Knight, J.D., the 15th President and first woman to lead Miles College, we also celebrate a presidency marked by progress with purpose.

Under President Knight’s leadership, Miles College has strengthened its financial foundation, secured a 10-year SACSCOC reaffirmation with zero findings, expanded academic and workforce opportunities, launched the College’s first graduate programs, developed transformational corporate and technology partnerships, and continued elevating the Miles College name on national and global stages.

From preserving the legacy of this historic institution to positioning our scholars for industries and opportunities that are still being created, President Knight continues to demonstrate what it means to lead with vision while remaining rooted in service.

President Knight, congratulations as you begin your seventh year of Innovation & Excellence. The work continues, and so does the legacy.

The Miles College Purple Marching Machine enters the 2026 season ranked No. 2 overall among Division II HBCU bands in the Red Lobster Band of the Year preseason media poll. Even more impressive, PMM earned the No. 1 ranking in Musicality and Drum Majors — the highest marks in two categories that speak directly to the sound, precision and leadership this program is known for.

We congratulate Professor Willie J. Snipes, Jr. and his entire team for continuing to build, teach and prepare at a championship level. And to our PMM scholars: your work is being recognized before the first major halftime performance of the season. Keep pushing.

The two-time defending Division II Band of the Year champions have more to show, and we’re ready to see it.
