Her work was completed at Karolinska Institute in Sweden as part of the National Science Foundation GROW Fellowship. The Impusle Lab at George Mason University conducts research studies on binge eating, purging, and alcohol abuse. We examine how personality traits influence these behaviors through deficits in emotion regulation, impulse control, and reward seeking.

The GMU Impulse lab is currently looking to recruit two new volunteer research assistants for a study looking at the mechanisms involved in dissonance-indcued attitude shift. Our Story

The Impulse Lab at George Mason University is a part of the clinical psychology department and includes Sarah Fischer, Ph.D., as the Principal Investigator.

Our lab conducts research studies on maladaptive behaviors, such as disordered eating (e.g., binge eating, purging) and alcohol abuse. We examine how personality traits influence these behaviors through deficits in emotion regulation, impulse control, and reward seeking. Students in the Impulse Lab are also researching how to prevent the development of such behavior.
