Celebrating the powerful opening of "Flare: Finding a Sense of Place in the Chronically Ill Body" by CVPA alumni Brianna Camp (BFA β23) β¨
Guests experienced an unforgettable evening reflecting on Briannaβs deeply personal exploration of chronic illness through large-scale oil paintings, photography, and poetry alongside an insightful artist talk and Q&A.
As a 2025 Young Alumni Commissioning Project Award winner, Brianna brought this world-premiere exhibition to life with remarkable vision and impact.

Created with support from the CVPA Young Alumni Commissioning Project, "Flare" brings together large-scale oil paintings, poetry, and documentary photography to explore Campβs lived experience with chronic illness.
Drawing from a decade of walks around Royal Lake Park in Fairfax, Virginia, the work traces connections between a transforming landscape and a body in constant flux asking how grief, healing, and self-trust can coexist.
