Today marks an important new chapter in the history of research and scholarship at George Mason University as we embark upon solving the greatest threats to humanity’s ability to live a peaceful, healthy, prosperous, and just existence. It is called the Grand Challenge Initiative, rooted in our deeply collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to research, education, access, and community partnership. It will take all of us working together to push the boundaries on progress over the next five years and to alter the course of our shared future. And we are already hard at work.
