In anticipation of International Women’s Day on March 8, join visual artist Ana De Orbegoso this Thursday, February 24 at 10:00 AM to make your own “power vest” during the Protest Wearables Workshop in the Gillespie Gallery of Art!

De Orbegoso is an acclaimed visual artist whose empowering work and feminist spirit is currently on display in Mason Exhibition Arlington’s exhibit: “Walking Together: for them and for us.” Ana’s works of “power vests” are a central component in the exhibit as her pieces act as a wearable display of the daily struggle women live with to achieve equal rights.

Join De Orbegoso and Mason Exhibitions this Thursday to create your own “power vest” as De Orbegoso holds a hands-on makers workshop teaching how to upcycle materials into wearable art promoting equality and liberation.

Want to attend this one-day-only event? Register for the workshop with this link, and make sure to bring along scraps of cloth/fabric, clothing as the foundation for the work, and any kind of pizazz element(s) to bring you piece to life >> bit.ly/3p57RPc

See you there!
