The Horn of Africa Student Association is a cultural and geographical based organization that represents the countries of Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia. Our mission is to bring together students from the Horn of Africa at George Mason University. We strive to create a sense of community, educate and enlighten others about our cultures, history and people.

HASA is currently accepting applications for a few e-board positions. For any and all positions that you may be interested in, email our current president, Kisanet at [email protected] Listed below are the descriptions for the available positions for HASA in 2016-2017:

Secretary: keep accurate records of proceedings of all meetings ( including information covered and information to be continued at next meeting) and relaying vital information to the entire members. Ensuring the president and vp has necessary information to make executive decisions. Keep correspondence using organization email account and stay up to date with scheduled programs and events.

Public relations: serves as the advertising personnel that will communicate to the members and the students body about on-going events and upcoming programs via social networking and broadcasting on a weekly basis or as needed.

Webmaster: responsible for updating and making changes to HASA website and also making flyers for event.

Spokesperson: you're the voice of the organization! Responsible for setting up public appearances, handling conflicts and keeping the public update
