With the semester two weeks in, it’s the perfect time to utilize our flyer boards! We have flyer boards in each of our buildings (The Hub, SUB I, and The Johnson Center) to help YOU promote services and events. 😁

Please note, every flyer posted within the Student Centers buildings MUST be stamped for approval by the Student Centers Office (JC324).

Student Centers is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Event Assistant for Event Services to provide on-site, day-of assistance for events scheduled on the Fairfax Campus of George Mason University.

Students selected for this position must be available to work between 10-20 hours each week under a varied schedule, with opportunities for work during the summer as well as during university breaks.
 
Other Responsibilities Include:
- Provide face-to-face customer service support for meetings and events scheduled both in and outside of Student Centers facilities.
- Prepare venues for events including unlocking doors, ensuring rooms are set according to standard and custom diagrams, cleaning furnishings and removing trash.
- Transport, set-up, and break-down of event furnishings and portable production equipment in meeting rooms and event spaces, including placing tables, chairs, and other furnishings.
- Meet with event contact prior to the start of the event to ensure that the facility is set-up properly and that all requested equipment and services are in place.

🚨 No Show Fees! 🚨

Event Services has begun re-enforcing no show fees for events in Student Centers venues.  Organizations that do not show up for their reservations without cancelling will be billed $100 for each large meeting space and/or $50 for each small meeting space not used. 
(This excludes any reservations clearly labelled as a “Rain Site.”) 

Be sure to cancel any unneeded reservations in 25Live at least 1 business day before your event to avoid a fee! ✅

Looking for hair and beauty products? Look no further as a new Boundless Beauty vending machine can be found on the Johnson Center Ground Floor near the Dance Studio. 💄🧴🪒

Tomorrow, July 4th our buildings (The Johnson Center, SUB 1, and The Hub) will be CLOSED to celebrate Independence Day.

We will re-open on Wednesday, July 5th.

Student Centers is seeking a qualified student to join our diverse team to help create and manage the photography and videography within our department. This position is responsible for providing photo/video support for the Student Centers’ Marketing Team, as well as partaking in outreach initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated high levels of experience and knowledge in photography and videography
- Proficient in photo and video editing tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud

In honor of the Juneteenth holiday, the Student Centers buildings (Johnson Center, SUB I, and The Hub) will be closed on Monday, June 19th.

Our buildings will reopen on Tuesday, June 20th under normal hours of operation.

Check out our NEW Bigbelly trash and recycling bins located at the Johnson Center! These bins are located inside the Atrium and outside at every entry/exit point of the JC.

The newest addition to our building consists of smart, solar-powered, sensor-equipped waste & recycling stations that communicate real-time status to streamline waste management operations.

Each bin features a detailed design of GMU that incorporates the beauty of Mason’s campus and encourages environmentally safe practices.

Our Event Services team is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Event Technician to operate and maintain portable audio/visual equipment and provide excellent customer service at George Mason University’s Fall 23’ and Spring 24’ semester events.

The Recreation Assistant is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers, distributing playing equipment, collecting fees, and enforcing facility policy.
