Thank you to all the participants who attended the 165th Anniversary Commemoration of the 1st Battle of Manassas (Bull Run). Although it was quite hot and the weather provided us with severe storms at the height of our public programming, you all provided first rate living history programs which were well received by the visitors to the Manassas National Battlefield Park. Participants representing the 4th Virginia and the 69th New York walked the routes which each unit arrived on the field 165 years ago. Camps were established at the Stone Bridge (69th NY), Stone House (11th NY and 14th NY) and the Portici portion of the battlefield (4th Virginia) with Living History in front of and around the Visitors Center. Thank you to the staff of the NPS for working with CWHI to provide these programs to remember what happened at Manassas at the beginnings of the war.

Pictures were taken by many participants. Thank you all for doing so.

Members of CWHI and our friends in the Third Regiment spent the weekend in Gettysburg at the Rupp House. Wonderful weekend educating the public on US, CS, Medical, Artillery and Civilian programming. Hundreds of visitors stopped by and then stopped into the Rupp House Childrens Museum. Several participants brought their own children, who dressed in period attire, and that helped attract visitors with families to visit camp. Thank you Kyle Windahl for the Battlewalk. ( Look to Kyle for more information)
Many long time friends and several new members contributed to a successful weekend. Thanks to everyone for you efforts. Well done!

One of our first living history programs of the year is being held at the Kernstown Battlefield. Infantry and civilian reenactors are on hand to bring awareness to the site and raise much needed funding to help with Kernstowns preservation efforts. The event runs through Sunday at 3pm. Stop out and support historical preservation. CWHI will make a financial contribution during next weekends opening weekend programming.
Well done Jason Anderson for managing this event.

Military Through the Ages 2026 at the Jamestown Settlement is wrapped up. I'm proud to say that were awarded a Blue Ribbon for first place in the black powder category at this year's event.
I want to say thank you to our members who worked so hard to provide the thousands of visitors an opportunity to learn about medical care during the American Civil War and the many components which had to be in place to provide comfort to the wounded. The effort you all put forth was evident and the comments and reviews we received from the judges and visitors reflected that effort.
Well done and I thank you all!

A talented and humble man. Rest in peace.
