One of our first living history programs of the year is being held at the Kernstown Battlefield. Infantry and civilian reenactors are on hand to bring awareness to the site and raise much needed funding to help with Kernstowns preservation efforts. The event runs through Sunday at 3pm. Stop out and support historical preservation. CWHI will make a financial contribution during next weekends opening weekend programming.
Well done Jason Anderson for managing this event.

Military Through the Ages 2026 at the Jamestown Settlement is wrapped up. I'm proud to say that were awarded a Blue Ribbon for first place in the black powder category at this year's event.
I want to say thank you to our members who worked so hard to provide the thousands of visitors an opportunity to learn about medical care during the American Civil War and the many components which had to be in place to provide comfort to the wounded. The effort you all put forth was evident and the comments and reviews we received from the judges and visitors reflected that effort.
Well done and I thank you all!

Members attended the Annual "Christmas on the Farm" event at the Renfrew Museum and Park. We were docents, period participants and supporting staff for the event. Although COLD, snowfall on Friday evening and the Christmas atmosphere made for a.most enjoyable weekend. Thanks to everyone who attended.

This past weekend, we attended the annual Remembrance Day parade in Gettysburg, PA. Many members, civilian and military participated in many programs including living history, a JROTC presentation, youth group interpretation, balls and of course marching in the parade.
To all those who attended, well done! You never disappoint. To those who did not make it, I hope to see you at events next year and certainly, here in Gettysburg for the parade. Thanks to all!

Everyone:

Registration for “When Duty Called, We Came”: The 165th Battle of Sharpsburg Preservation March is now LIVE! This preservation march isn’t until September of 2027, but we want to ensure you have ample time to both physically prepare to complete this march and to meet the fundraising goal we’re challenging you to meet.

Do not let your current physical condition or financial state dissuade you - you have TWO YEARS to ready yourself, make yourself stronger, build your endurance, and join us as we accomplish something truly spectacular and noble - together.

Registration for this preservation march is $40 to cover the administrative and logistical costs of the march. In joining us on this march, you are doing more than just registering to attend for your own experience. You are also committing to a $100 PLEDGE towards the preservation of history for future generations.

You have ample time and options to pay, be it up front or spread out over time. 100% of the funds raised will be donated to preserving history. This is SEPARATE from the $40 registration fee which covers the cost of the administrative and logistical support of the march.

A PLEDGE is not an immediate PAYMENT. In registering and committing to your pledge, you will receive emails with a pledge confirmation and periodic reminders. YOU have control over pledge payment and will not be automatically billed.

Mark your calendar.
Start preparing yourself physically.
Join us as the hobby unites around something truly worth doing.
