More STEM-spiration from ASNE:
Dr. Gwendolyn Boyd.
Multifaceted Engineer, University President, STEM Advocate.
Dr. Boyd's message to young girls: "Stay focused on your dream, pursue it and build your network. Know that those involved in STEM careers will change the course of the world. Tenacity, determination and perseverance are the attributes that kept me going and will drive you forward if you stay focused, relentless, put in the work and stay the course.
Most of us are inspired by a great wakeup song, the Reverend Dr. Gwendolyn Boyd, is inspired by conquering the ‘how’ in a problem, and she says that is at the very foundation of her scholarly passion and love for math and science.
Dr. Boyd is the first African American female to graduate from Yale University with a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering.
She graduated from and later became President of Alabama State University, and is the Chair of the Black Engineer of the Year (BEYA) Alumni Association.
