OIPS wishes Dr. Yali Pan all the best! 💛💚

After six and a half incredible years with the Office of International Programs and Services (OIPS), Dr. Yali Pan, our Associate Director for Engagement and Assessment, is leaving George Mason and beginning an exciting new chapter with her family in California!

Throughout her time at George Mason, Yali led the OIPS Engagement Team, which is responsible for our on-campus and virtual events and many other initiatives. As a former international student herself, Yali made a lasting impact on our international student community through her dedication, care, and commitment to creating meaningful experiences and a welcoming environment for students from around the world. 🌎

Please join us in thanking Yali and saying farewell as we celebrate everything she has contributed to OIPS, George Mason University, and our international community. We will miss her greatly and wish her nothing but success and happiness in this next chapter! 💚💛

TODAY, Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM EST join us for an important OIPS webinar:

New Federal Fixed Admission Rule Limiting Duration of Status and Academic Flexibility

Learn what the new DHS Fixed Admission Rule could mean for your F-1 status.

Students, join OIPS for an overview of the Department of Homeland Security’s Fixed Admission Rule, which limits how long international students may remain in the United States and imposes new academic restrictions. We will review the new length-of-stay requirements, extension of stay process, and academic restrictions that vary by education level. As implementation and guidance continue to evolve, this session will reflect our current understanding of the rule and its potential implications.

Please note that we are currently unable to confirm whether the webinar will be recorded due to the evolving nature of the Fixed Admission Rule. If you are able, we encourage you to attend the live session.

The webinar registration link can be found in our bio!

Today, George Mason University’s Class of 2026 student commencement speaker was Saniya Darediya. Saniya is an international student from Gujarat, India who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. We are incredibly proud of all she has accomplished and cannot wait to see what she does next. Congratulations to Saniya and congratulations to the Class of 2026. 💚💛
