💡Ustadh Omar brought clarity to some pressing questions this week:

1) I have a very close friend who is of the opposite gender, and our friendship is purely platonic. We’ve both agreed we have no feelings for one another, we just enjoy each other’s company and don’t see each other in that way. How can I ensure that I avoid fitnah in this friendship or do i have to end my friendship with them entirely?
2) Is it permissible for me to read from a physical Quran for my daily prayers? If it’s impermissible how do you recommend maintaining that deep connection in prayer when constantly having to repeat small surahs for all my prayers.
3) how do i go about my parents strongly disagree with my choice of major/career path? How do I balance respecting their wishes with pursuing my own goals while ensuring I am not committing an act of disobedience?
4) is hijab fard (mandatory)?
