My new job is ending!

Another snow day tomorrow, foxes!

I am beginning to think this is my new job—updating you on snow days! Please see the message from our superintendent regarding why schools are closed tomorrow, January 9.

“I want to provide an update on tomorrow’s school status. The Virginia Department of Transportation has been prioritizing clearing secondary roads, however clearing bus stops and sidewalks has continued to be problematic. Many sidewalks and bus stops (we have 45,000 bus stops!) continue to be covered in snow. With that in mind, we feel that closing all Fairfax County public schools tomorrow, Thursday, January 9, 2025, is the best decision until we can ensure safe travel to and from school.”

A HUGE thank you to our amazing custodial team who spent tireless hours making sure Willow Springs is ready to receive our foxes whenever we return! They are the best team, and we are so lucky to have them!!

We also thank community members who have been making sure sidewalks are clear and safe for students to walk!!

We wanted to let families know that due to unsafe bus stops and side roads, FCPS will be closed again tomorrow, January 8. Please stay safe if you are out and about!

The roads are icy and the snow ❄️ keeps falling! Please stay safe and enjoy another snow day!

On the second day of winter break, we celebrate our successes with Benchmark this year! Our teachers and students of all ages have embraced it and are learning so much along the way.

To round out the week, the children proclaimed,
“This week has been sigma, my ‘fits aren’t lame”
They grabbed their pajamas to get ready for bed,
And spent the day reading, learning things in their head.
You could hear them exclaim as they walked out of sight,
“Happy winter break to all, and to all a good night!”

🎶 It’s beginning to look a lot like PJ day, all around Willow Springs, and the thing that we love to see is the joy that there will be, it’s the little things. 🎶 🩵💚
