Good Morning, Frost Families,

The PTA still needs a president and vice-president. Surely someone is willing to step up and serve in either of these capacities!

If you want to know about the time commitment and required tasks, please do not hesitate to contact me. Neither job is very taxing; both are very rewarding.

If these positions are not filled by the last day of school there will not be a PTA at Frost next year.

As always, thank you for your support.

Frost Return to School Town Hall Meetings | Frost Middle School 02/26/2021

Hello, Frost Families,
Whether your children are returning to school or remaining virtual, there is a fair amount of information out there for all of us to process. If you have not already done so, please take the time to educate yourselves and your children about the upcoming Return to School Plans by watching the recording of last night's Frost Town Hall. Additionally, the video from the February 11th Town Hall is also available on the same site. Both videos and their accompanying presentations can be accessed by following the link below.

https://frostms.fcps.edu/node/5166

Taking this step now will help to answer most, if not all, of your questions about concurrent lessons, classroom monitors, lunch, etc. It may also alleviate some of the anxiety that many of you may be feeling.

If by some chance the link to the recordings does not work, I encourage you to check your email as the school sent several Return to School messages this week.

Also, please join us for the March PTA Meeting on Tuesday, March 2nd at 7:30pm. We will provide Mr. Harris extra time to answer parent questions about the first day of in-person learning as well as vote on the Spring Teacher Grant Applications.

Thank you and have a great weekend,
LaTisha

Other requests funded through the Grants program include: Digital library books, literacy programs, Annual Spelling Bee, Frost Minds Matter student club, positivity project/mentorship incentives, teacher recognition, to mention a few.

Amazon.com eGift Card 12/12/2020

Hello, Frost Families,

Many of you have asked about delivering teacher gifts. Here is some guidance on that matter:

Please note that the vast majority of the teachers and staff are NOT in the building. Consequently, food gifts should not be shared. If you would like to send your child's teacher(s) a gift, please consider sending eGift cards to their FCPS email address. Teacher email addresses can be found in SIS or in their progress reports, NOT on the school's website.

As for which e-gift cards to send, that is obviously up to you. Here are a few links to get you started:

Visa: https://www.vanillagift.com/catalog?type=email_animated

Walmart: https://giftcards.walmart.com/.../Basic-Blue.../653984410

Target: https://www.target.com/.../my-happy-place.../-/A-54630250...

Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Amazon.../dp/B00BWDH54I/ref=sr_1_3...

The PTA does not endorse one vendor over another; this is being shared for informational purposes only.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support of the Frost Staff and Administration.

You may now view your child's grades for Quarter 1 in ParentVUE/Gradebook. You may have to select Quarter 1 when you enter Gradebook as I believe it defaults to a view of Quarter 2.
Formal report cards will be distributed either by mail or email notification at a later date.

Reflections: Explore the Arts and Express Yourself

The theme for the 2020-2021 program year is I Matter Because.... Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts.

Entries will be submitted digitally. More information on how to submit your entries will be posted on the Frost PTA website in the next week or two.

The deadline for submissions will be October 16th, so get started thinking and creating. We can't wait to see what you come up with!
National PTA's Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.

Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.
