Today was one of Mr. Cook’s last days at the assistant principal of Greenbriar West ES. Mr. Cook came to GBW during the pandemic in 2020 and he has faithfully served our students, staff, and community for these past 4 years as a servant leader. Thank you Mr. Cook for: the way you always made our students feel loved, our staff to feel supported, and our families to feel confident that their children were under your careful supervision. You will be missed, and we wish you the best in your next adventure.

GBW Lost and Found will be outside and accessible this evening for one last call! Stop on by to find your missing coats, sweatshirts, lunch boxes, and water bottles. Items are located under front entrance to GBW (covered area). All remaining items will be donated on Thursday.

We had a wonderful morning promoting our class of 2024 to middle school! Congrats students on all your hard work!

Our amazing 6th grade Panda Partners celebrated the end of the year with an ice cream party. These student support the students in our ID/IDS program. They help with lunch, specials, recess, and other special events. Most importantly they are FRIENDS!

Today we celebrated the graduation of our former pandas! We had grads from 4 different schools come back to walk the halls one last time! Congrats class of 2024!

We had an AMAZING field day today! The weather was perfect and fun was had by all! Thank you Mr. Crede and Mr. Conor for a great day!

One of our very own 3rd grade students has been named the winner for the state of Virginia in the Doodle for Google contest.

She needs votes to earn the national title. With the title she earns a $50,000 scholarship and our school gets $50,000 technology package from Google.

Fourth grade just left for Jamestown field trip! Have fun 4th grade!

Panda Party this Friday! Come on out!

Panda Party is next Friday, May 17 from 4:30-6pm on the GBW blacktop. Parents must stay and party with their little pandas! There will be music, games, snacks, and lots of fun! It's free to come (but bring some cash for snacks!). See you there!

2nd grade field trip to Riverbend Park

Thank you to the Urban Forestry Division for partnering with us to help plant 6 new trees near The Hope Pregozen Playground today. Students learned: the importance that trees play in protecting our environment, how trees grow, and how spending time outside in nature can help improve our mental health. Students also got a chance to plant the trees. Thank you again to Urban Forestry Division for donating over 30 trees to Greenbriar West ES! This was the last planting session for our new trees and we look forward to many years to come of enjoying these beautiful new trees!

Thank you to the 6th grade class of 2024 for donating these two new soccer goals! We even had the 6th graders help assemble our goals today during recess- thank you 6th grade for this amazing gift!
