Today we recognize Juneteenth, a celebration and commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States. Also known as Emancipation Day or Freedom Day, Juneteenth marks a day in 1865 when enslaved Texans learned they would be free, two months after the end of the Civil War and two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation.
Eid Mubarak to all who observe! Eid al-Adha, or the “Feast of Sacrifice,” is the second of two main holidays celebrated in Islam. Muslims believe that Eid al-Adha signifies the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim, known as Abraham in Christianity and Judaism, to sacrifice his son, Ismail, as ordered by Allah. It focuses on sacrifice, the pilgrimage to Mecca and giving to those less fortunate.

Our first graders are talented storytellers! Using storytelling vocabulary, these students read wordless picture books and created original narrations for their stories. They are excellent critical thinkers, collaborators and communicators!
Way to Go Mustangs!! These students had impressively high scores on the latest WordMasters Challenge test. WordMasters is a nationwide competition that enhances critical thinking skills and enriches vocabulary. Using a set of challenging words, they must complete logical puzzles in the form of analogies. It is a tough task, but they prevailed! Congratulations!! Of course, we can't forget about the teachers who prepared them for the challenge! Thank you for supporting and encouraging our students to persevere and stay positive when faced with challenges...whether they involve words or not. 🏅🙂❤️
