📅Calendar Reminder: Tomorrow, Monday, October 28, is a three-hour early dismissal at 12:15 p.m. Students are to leave school and the playground is not available until 3:15. Supervision will be provided for those families who indicated they require assistance.
The Fall Festival is tomorrow! 🎃 Join us from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free and large community event will feature a Trunk-or-Treat (11:00 AM - 12:30 PM), Magic Show at 1:00 PM, fun crafts 🖌, face painting, balloon art 🎈, photo booth, games, and food trucks 🍔. The Little Mermaid Jr. sixth grade musical team will also be fundraising during the event with donuts and 50/50 raffle tickets for sale (cash/Venmo accepted). Don't forget your own treat bag!
Calendar Reminder: Oak View's next 3-hour early release will occur on Monday, October 28, with dismissal at 12:15 p.m. As a reminder, students are to leave school and the playground will not be accessible until 3:15. Supervision will be provided for those families who indicated they required assistance.
Oak View PTA will host a movie night this Friday, 10/25. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and the first movie begins at 6:00 p.m. There will be two movies: It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown at 6:00; and Happy Halloween, Scooby Doo! at 6:45.
Popcorn, Pizza, and Snacks will be for sale. Cash/Venmo accepted. Proceeds will support the end of year sixth grade activities.
This is not a drop off event. Bring a blanket or something comfy to sit on. Please join us for this fun-filled evening!
Join Oak View and other Robinson feeder elementary schools for a Family Resource Fair at Robinson on Tuesday, October 29. The event will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Gold Cafeteria at Robinson Secondary. Families are invited to connect with local organizations that will provide information about support and resources in the areas of health, recreation, education, and school/family partnerships. Refreshments will be served, and childcare activities will be offered.

Author Ann Marie Stephens will be visiting students in grades K and 1 on November 8. She will sign pre-ordered books for families that would like to order them. As part of their Ladybug unit, our third graders learned about ecosystems, food chains, adaptations, and more! Students had fun releasing the ladybugs after watching them grow from pupae to adults.

ICYMI: Oak View was so excited to honor our custodians last week! Our custodians were showered with thanks and appreciation from all Oak View students and staff. We thank our Building Supervisor, Mrs. Guzman, evening custodians Ms. DeLeon and Ms. Perez, Assistant Building Supervisor, Ms. Cuenca, temporary daytime custodian, Mr. Ruiz-Diaz and evening custodian, Mr. Mejia! They help us every single day!
Oak View is encouraging students and their families to walk or bike to school on Thurs, Oct 10. If you live further away, consider driving to a local parking lot, like St. Mary’s Church or University Mall, and walk/bike from there. Make sure to go to door 6 (recess doors) for a special entrance!

Pre-ordered yearbooks will be distributed the last week of school! A limited number of extra books will be available for sale. If you missed the pre-order and would like to purchase a copy, you can pay online at www.myschoolbucks.com. The cost is $17.00. Once the books are gone, the site will show as sold out.
