Farewell Fall! Our time together was beautiful, short and sweet. It’s not official yet, but Winter and I have been seeing each other.

I built out Big Sky’s multipurpose room to feel open, warm and inviting. The walls were purposefully painted a clean white and color brought in through natural wood tones, textiles and displayed art. Yes, you will see the colorful ABCs; but, I believe children are able to appreciate and feel curated artwork too. Your eyes are not deceiving you-I did paint the ceiling black. I wanted to “bring the space down” visually for the kids. Although, the space is open individual play stations were created throughout to invite the children to explore while playing pretend in our executive kitchen or grabbing their stethoscope to treat patients at the veterinarian’s office. The vast majority of toys provided are open ended to encourage the kids to follow their own imagination and allow their play to take them in any direction their creativity takes them. There is a large flat screen in the room, but it will only be used for our group kiddie yoga and the occasion dance party! I’m a little old school, so there will be no screen time while children are in my care. Our days will be spent playing, reading, creating and exploring. Hey folks, someone very smart suggested I should post an introduction about myself…so here goes. I am a Registered Nurse specialized in oncology. With much thought and consideration, I made the decision to step back from a career I love to be home with my children and begin a new adventure with Big Sky Daycare. I also have a degree in Interior Design and worked as a staff architect early in my career. I’m an avid DIYer and woodworker. I enjoy working with my hands and building anything and everything. I have three little ones of my own and being their mother has been the happiest, craziest and wildest adventure yet! When I first envisioned what Big Sky would be like I set out to create a daycare I would be happy sending my own children. As a parent, I understand how difficult it can be to leave your child in the care of another. I wholeheartedly assure you that when your child is here in my home, they will be treated as my own. By the way, this is my first selfie ever posted. Yup, baby hairs and all-that’s me, Annie :)

So, I just jumped into the 21st century and Instagram…ended up deleting a bunch of pictures on Big Sky’s first post! Here are some more for your viewing pleasure. Fresh air, fun and exploration. Outdoor play allows children to develop their self confidence, independence and self esteem…and of course it’s just plain ol’ fun! At Big Sky Daycare we’ve got a great outdoor space for all ages and abilities.
