The letter to our class below was written by Bill Amshey whom most of you know.
I did not include the committee's addresses since this is a public group on Facebook but please contact me at Sue Rekart Facebook site or email me at [email protected] to receive the addresses for receiving your down payment if you plan to attend.

We are hoping for a record turn out. Share this page on your site , you never know who is stalking. :-)

The WT Woodson Class of '66 50th reunion will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the Fairfax City American Legion Post 177. The Legion is located at 3939 Oak St, Fairfax, VA 22030, right behind the old Fairfax High School. We are GUESSTIMATING the price at $50.00 per person.

Dayle Durrer Dooley and I have established a checking account at the Apple Federal Credit Union. Unfortunately, we had to establish the account in our names. To do so in the name of the organizing committee -- Dayle, Sue Key Rekhart, and me -- would have required us to have formed a 501(c) and register with the IRS, which we decided required just to much effort.

We ask that anyone planning to attend and bring a guest(s) put a deposit down of $25.00 per person. This will also help us to get a good idea of how many to expect and allow us to adjust the American Legion room rental, if necessary. Please write your check to Dayle or me and in the Memo line of your check write for WTW Class of '66 50th Reunion. (See addresses below.)

Right now, we have deposits down on both rooms at the Legion, which will accommodate approximately 270 people. Yes, we are thinking BIG! We and many of the people we have talked with figure this could be the last one. We hope not, but it could be.

So far, we have been able to contact just over 100 classmates, and we are continuing our search. If you have stayed in touch with anyone over the years, please pass our contact information to them and ask them to contact us.

In addition to the reunion on Saturday, Woodson High School has agreed to host anyone interested to a tour of the school. This would be the day before, Friday, August 12th. Time remains TBD.

We would like to establish a class Website for communications purposes, but Dayle, Sue, and I are not Web Masters. If there is anyone out there who has the skills and would like to help out, please contact us immediately.

We would also like to publish -- in print or electronically or both -- short (no more than 1 page) biographies of anyone interested. Steve Miller has offered to help with this project. So, please start writing your bios and sending them in. Pictures are welcome.

Last, on a sad note, our class suffered several deaths during the Vietnam War. We are working with the American Legion to have an honor guard ceremony during the reunion. We would like to include anyone who served in the military in the ceremony, so please let us know who you are.

Further on the subject of volunteering, if anyone would like to help us with anything, please don't be bashful.

If we get a good number of people coming in from out of town, we will try to get a bock of discounted rooms at one or two local hotels.

Please let us know if you have any questions or comments. We think this is going to be a great reunion.

02/07/2016

SAVE THE DATE!!! WTW class of 1966 50th class reunion will be the weekend of August 13, 2016. We don't have the exact schedule yet but the American Legion post in Fairfax checked out to be a great place to hold the event.
They will cater the event and have yummy food. The space will seat 200 at tables and if we get more response we will arrange chairs to make sure everyone will be able to attend who wants to. We have some choices for DJ's from the area.
The cost is estimated at $50 per person depending on how many people respond.

Anyone who would like to help with decorations let me know at [email protected] or message me at this facebook site.

We will put out the registration information soon. Stay tuned.

We are contacting class members on classmates, through the school, the alumni association, past reunion lists, and social media. If you know anyone who was in our class send them this message.

Hi Gang, we are ramping up our search for a site to hold the 50th class reunion in the Fairfax /Vienna area. Does anyone have connections with the Army Navy Country Club in Fairfax? We are also looking at the Patriot Hall in Vienna.
