A new school year is a fresh start—and when your child has an IEP or 504 Plan, starting the year strong matters.

The first few weeks are the perfect time to make sure your child’s supports are actually happening the way they are written. Are accommodations being provided consistently? Are service minutes starting on time? Does the new teacher understand your child’s needs, strengths, and goals? Is communication between home and school working?

Addressing concerns early can make a huge difference. When everyone begins the year on the same page, with the right supports in place from day one, we create a stronger foundation for progress, confidence, and a successful school year.

And remember: an IEP isn’t just paperwork sitting in a file. It should be actively implemented every school day.

💙 Building More Inclusive Schools, One Sensory Space at a Time 💙

As a community partner, one of the things we want to do is help highlight and support the incredible work schools are doing to create spaces where all students can feel safe, regulated, and ready to learn.

We’re starting with Terra Centre Elementary School and their sensory room! 🧩✨

Having a dedicated space where students can step away, decompress, regulate their bodies, and get the sensory input they need is so important. For some students, a sensory room isn’t just a “nice extra”—it can be the difference between feeling completely overwhelmed and being able to return to the classroom ready to participate and learn.

We would love to use our platform and community to help schools build and stock these spaces. ❤️

We are so grateful to everyone who came out, spent time with us, connected with other families, and helped make our event at Solace Brewing such a success! 🥰

There’s something incredibly special about bringing our community together in a space where families can connect, kids can have fun, and everyone feels welcome. Seeing so many familiar faces—and meeting so many new ones—reminded us exactly why we love hosting events like this.

We found different accessibility features in Grand Cayman like the wheelchair-accessible beach mat system. ♿🏝️ These beach access mats create a firm pathway across the sand, making it easier for wheelchair users, mobility device users, strollers, and families with accessibility needs to enjoy the beach and reach the shoreline.

As a family that values inclusive travel, it’s amazing to see destinations like Grand Cayman investing in accessible beaches and barrier-free experiences. Small accommodations like beach mats can make a world of difference, allowing more travelers to experience the beauty of the Caribbean with greater independence and confidence.
