Monthly Elementary Special: Celebrating Holi

Fairbanks Nutrition Services is excited to celebrate Holi, the Festival of Colors—a holiday observed in India and Nepal that marks the arrival of spring and symbolizes light, renewal, and joy.

On April 6th, elementary students will be offered a special meal:

Known for its warm flavor and vibrant color, this dish is a favorite in our secondary schools, and we’re excited to share it with elementary students. To add to the celebration, students are invited to bring in bright, colorful artwork to help decorate our kitchens!

🎉 Happy New Year Fairbanks! Welcome to 2026 🎉

As we begin a new year, we want to take a moment to extend our heartfelt thanks to the many individuals, clubs, and local businesses who generously donated funds to help pay down student meal debt throughout the school year.

Because of your exceptional kindness and continued support, all current student meal debt has been paid off. When students return to school on January 7, no students will carry a negative meal balance—a powerful and meaningful way to start 2026!

This achievement reflects the strength of our community and the shared belief that students deserve access to nutritious meals. While today is a moment worth celebrating, we also recognize that each new school day brings new meals, and ongoing support is always appreciated.

🍎 Join Our Team! – TIC Kitchen Manager Wanted 🍎

Are you passionate about nutrition and leading a team in a school setting? Our district is hiring a TIC Kitchen Manager to join our Nutrition Services team!

Position Details:
-Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
-Schedule: No nights, no weekends
-Duration: 9-month school year (summers off!)
-Pay: $19.19 – $21.46/hour, depending on experience

-Paid holidays
-Two weeks of paid winter break
-Separate Personal Leave & Sick Leave pools

🎄 Grateful for Community Support 🎄

We are incredibly thankful to the Fairbanks Cheechako Lions Gaming for their generous donation in support of our students and families. Yesterday, ManaRae stopped by our office to present a $10,000 donation that will be used to help pay off student meal debt heading into Christmas break.

This thoughtful contribution will provide meaningful relief for families and make a positive impact on students across our district.
