Lots of opportunities for public testimony this week! HB 69 is a bill to raise the BSA (Base Student Allocation/education funding).

Senate Education is taking general testimony so it’s also a great opportunity to advocate for increased funding.

Have you filled out the Focus Group Interest Form for the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District yet? This is so important, please take part! The Strategic Plan being developed will guide the School Board and Administration for the next five years, and it needs ALL our voices.

Not sure if you should join? Here's a few points to consider. If you answer yes to any of these, your opinions and needs should be heard during a focus group!
- Are you a human living in the Fairbanks North Star Borough?
- Have you ever felt confused and frustrated about something regarding the School District?
- Have you ever been wowed by something regarding the School District?
- Have you kind of not noticed the School District before?
- Do you feel neutral about the School District?
- Do you have school age children?
- Do you have older children who attended school of any kind?
- Do you have young children who will attend school of any kind?
- Do you not have children?

I could go on, but I'm pretty sure you answered at least two of those with a "yes," so please sign up! They have added sessions and are looking for additional participants. Please share this or forward the email you may have received from Dr. Meinert.
