Range closure this week...

MAINTENANCE CLOSURE - JUN 10-15, 2026
Parking lot work is scheduled this week, starting tomorrow June 10, and we will need to close the parking lot and the range (no walk-in public use hours this week) as the project necessitates no traffic on the lot during phases of the work. We anticipate the parking lot to be open again by Tuesday, June 16 and for walk-in public use hours to resume next week. Hopefully, all goes well and the weather cooperates and the contractor can get in and do a quality job during this time frame.

Are you ready for summer???

The last day of our 2025-2026 Regular Season is this Friday, May 8. We hope you are able to stop in this week during walk-in public use hours and get some target practice in! We've posted our 2026 Summer Season (begins Wed, May 13) schedule online at:
https://aimcomm.org/web/indoor-range. We will be closed Sat May 9 through Tue May 12, as we transition to our Summer Season.

What's up with this critter? A few summers ago, this furry visitor was discovered digging into the backfill dirt and chewing into the foam insulation along the foundation of the downrange section of the range. Some fruit and veggies succeeded in luring the adventurous rodent into a live trap and we were able to relocate to a more suitable venue. :-)

YOUTH FIREARM SAFETY AND MARKSMANSHIP

Join us at the Fairbanks Fish and Game Indoor Range where youth, ages 10-17, accompanied by an adult, receive FREE range lane rental ALL YEAR LONG with proof of completion of one or more of the following training classes:

- Hunter Education class – huntereducation.alaska.gov (Show Basic - Hunter Education card or course completion temporary certificate)
- NRA First Steps Rifle - aimcomm.org/web/registration (Show valid course completion certificate)
- NRA First Steps Pistol - aimcomm.org/web/registration (Show valid course completion certificate)

Just show proof of class completion at the front counter during check-in to receive one free lane rental for that day (limited to one redemption per day) for the lane the youth and accompanying adult will occupy. Non-transferable. Valid until end of 2025.

Why are we offering this opportunity?
We want to encourage firearm safety and the safe and responsible use of fi****ms in the community and especially with youth. Alaskans use guns to harvest game for food, for target shooting, personal protection, and competitive shooting events. Everyone should learn about firearm safety and those using fi****ms should gain knowledge and experience and regularly practice to improve marksmanship and safe gun handling skills. We hope parents and adults will help youth learn proper firearm safety and provide kids a safe, structured educational and fun opportunity by visiting the range and enjoying some free range time!

This youth firearm safety and marksmanship promotion is made possible by the Alaska Interior Marksmanship Committee (AIM-COMM), and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game Indoor Range in Fairbanks.
