This is a two-week field class in volcanology offered by the University of Alaska Fairbanks in cooperation with the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, Kamchatka Branch of Geophysical Survey, and the Kamchatka State University in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia. We are pleased to announce a new course section is now available! Join us to explore deposits of the two White River Ash eruptions in eastern Alaska and the Yukon, and learn how to use experiments to figure out where magmas are stored beneath Mt Churchill, Alaska. Open to advanced undergraduate and graduate students, as well as early-career geoscientists, this course will be held July 15 to 31, 2024.
