Vehicle Custodian & Inspection Assistant (Temp):
Facilities Services is hiring a temporary, part-time Vehicle Custodian & Inspection Assistant to keep our fleet clean, safe, and ready for use. In this role, you’ll clean and detail vehicles inside and out, check lights, fluid levels, and safety equipment, and remove snow or ice as needed. If you’re detail-oriented and enjoy hands-on work that keeps things running smoothly, we’d love to have you on our team.
This is a part-time, temporary position. New hires will be placed on the UA Temporary Salary Schedule, Grade 75 ($16.15), based on education and experience.

This position may be filled at the CT2 or CT3 level, depending on the selected candidate’s experience.

This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. ❄️ Snow doesn’t clock out, and neither does our Grounds Crew.

While the snow keeps falling, the UAF Facilities Services Grounds team is working around the clock clearing walks, roads, and entrances to keep campus as safe and accessible as possible. Shoveling while it’s still snowing can feel like emptying a bathtub with the faucet is still on, but staying ahead of accumulation helps prevent ice and hazardous conditions later.
If you see our crew out there, please give them space to work and a friendly wave, they’re putting in long hours to keep campus moving.
