First BGSA meeting of the semester is this THURSDAY at 4pm! We are switching meeting times a bit this semester, so stay tuned for new times for public meetings and game nights. Due to rising cases, we will be hosting this meeting via Zoom. As always, keep your eyes peeled for an email from Pauline for the link.

Very excitingly, we will ALSO be announcing and discussing the NEW leadership team that will be leading BGSA for the next year, so be sure to come to meet your new leaders 🥳

In the meantime, we are all enjoying the 6-7 new MINUTES of light we're gaining a day, and hopefully have all gotten past our buried vehicles from the holiday winter storms. Stay warm and happy everyone!

YAHOO spring is here and so is the end of the semester! Tomorrow (Friday) is the *LAST* 🤯 BGSA public meeting of the semester, and everyone is welcome to join our *FIRST* in-person meeting of the year tomorrow at the north end of the Murie parking lot. We are planning on having a tailgate picnic there, where distancing is going to be strictly practiced. Masking will be required if distancing cannot be practiced. BYO food and (non alcoholic) drinks, and come around tomorrow (Friday) at 4:00! See you there 😀😎

Some fun announcements! The deadline for registering for the Midnight Sun Science Symposium has been extended, to tomorrow Friday March 26th. Sign up if you would like to present a poster or do a live 10-minute presentation! Tomorrow is also the deadline, for those who already registered, to submit an abstract for presentations. See your emails for the links to register.

Remember that you can sign up to attend at any time! Your chance of winning something in the raffle increases the more you attend during the symposium - so attend as much as you can (also, attend as much as you can because you want to learn and engage and connect with other people's research ;) )!

This Saturday, May 5th, the BGSA is teaming up with the graduate students of GIGSA, FOSSA, and AFS to coordinate a roadside clean up day. Meet up in front of Murie at 9 AM! Trash bags and gloves will be provided.

We will clean for a few hours and then come together for a spring celebration BBQ at noon!
