NISAR L-band data are now available! 🌎🛰️
Researchers worldwide can now access the first public release of calibrated L-band data from the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) mission through the Alaska Satellite Facility Distributed Active Archive Center (ASF DAAC).
L-band radar's longer wavelength can reveal subtle changes across Earth's surface, through clouds, smoke, vegetation, and, in some cases, snow and ice. These observations will help scientists better monitor earthquakes, landslides, glaciers, forests, wetlands, agriculture, and other dynamic Earth processes.
This initial release includes observations acquired on or after June 17, 2026. New data will be added as they are processed, and earlier observations from NISAR's first year of science operations will continue to be released throughout the year.
