Dr. Beena Sukumaran presented her vision for UAF as a future-focused, student-centered research university.
She talked about:
• Preparing students for jobs that don’t exist yet
• Integrating Al across all majors (not just CS) while still valuing strong writing, communication, and critical thinking
• Growing research opportunities and faster pathways to grad school
• Supporting all disciplines - including humanities, social sciences, and the arts
• Strengthening community connections, K-12 outreach, and a culture of care for students
As students, our voices matter in this search.
Don’t forget to fill out the evaluation form and share your thoughts on the candidate.

Four finalists for chancellor of UAF will be on campus the week of May 4-8, visiting Fairbanks and the Troth Yeddha’ Campus. Each will spend a day meeting with campus groups and participating in two open forums, held in the Schaible Auditorium and online.

ASUAF is playing a key role in helping facilitate student involvement in this process as we help shape the future leadership of UAF at a critical time for our university and our state.
